I am off for couple of days. We are going to our favourite summer destination: Croatia.

A rainy day

There are days when I just feel different.

I was invited to a 25th anniversary of finishing secondary school.  How easy would it be to go to such a reunion if I had children.

I just couldn't face all the small talks. And noisy questions. And the feeling that I always get on reunions like that - that my life is worthless.

Usually a long walk or cycling lifts my spirit. But today it is raining cats and dogs, so I preferred to stay inside after work.

Luckily I had a lovely novel to read:

The Japanese Lover

I have always loved Allende's novels.

“You only have one life, but if you live it well, that’s enough. The only reality is now, today. What are you waiting for to be happy?”
Isabel Allende, The Japanese Lover

The Lost Tribe of Childless Women

I just loved this TED talk!

Alpe Adria Cycling Trail

I just returned from a great cycling tour with my husband. We went cycling on Alpe Adria Cycling Trail, from south of Austria to Salzburg: https://www.alpe-adria-radweg.com/en/

We cycled 180 kilometers in 3 days. It isn't a lot of kilometers, but some of them were quite steep.

I am attaching some photos.

The next cycling trip will be at the end of summer, the southern part of the cycling trail: to Italian seaside.

Glücklich – auch ohne Kind / Happy - also without a child

My language is spoken only by two million people so that's why it is important to speak many foreign languages. I am glad I do, otherwise I wouldn't understand this lovely video. It is in German, I got the link on Elaine's blog. Since I have lots of visitors also from German speaking countries I am attaching the link:

https://www.zdf.de/gesellschaft/ml-mona-lisa/kinderwunsch-gluecklich-auch-ohne-kind-100.html

The couple in their early 30s is telling their story about stopping fertility treatments and living without their own children, but yet surrounded with other people's children. I just love this couple! I wish them all the best.

The moment that I loved the most in the video is when she is telling her memories, how she couldn't live with the guilt that he would remain childless because of her. So she told him that he has to leave her. And he replied: "My family is you."
What a wonderful answer!

And here is his blog: http://www.vaterwunsch.de/
This is the very first blog of a man who is writing about living after infertility.

Another beautiful day

Photos are from my top favourite part of my country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Bohinj

It was just a perfect day:
- walking around the lake (13 kilometers)
- swimming in cold crystal clear water

Wolfie enjoyed it as well :)

A frog

I love summers. There is so much to do outside that I lack time for thinking about the things that I miss and will miss in my life. Currently I don't miss anything, perhaps just some free time...

The photo was taken by my husband. This is one of the things I love about him: he loves wildlife and he would never hurt an animal, no matter how small it is.

I like the colour of the frog and how it is looking back.
