Ukraine

I live in a tiny European country. From the our most eastern part of the country to the closest Ukraine town there are only 5 hours of driving by car!

The war in Ukraine. How horrible. I worry.

I checked the statistics of my blog and it was visited 237 times by visitors from Ukraine in the last 12 months.

I imagine who are they,  who were reading my blog. I wish you all the best, my dear readers from Ukraine. Stay safe.

  1. I've been thinking about you. And you've been thinking about your readers in the Ukraine. <3 I have no words. War is awful.

  2. That's a little too close for comfort, Klara! I hope this doesn't affect you too much. It's all so sad! :(

Canada has the biggest population of Ukrainians outside of Ukraine, I think... I am half Ukrainian on my father's side of the family, although we've been in Canada for more than 100 years. (My mother's family came from Ireland and from Sweden.) But my grandfather had siblings back in Ukraine, and although they are all gone now, I know there are still relatives there, although I don't really know anything about them. But I am thinking of them. He was from a small town in west Ukraine, a few hours from both Lviv and the Polish border. My grandmother was born in Canada but her family was from the same area.

  4. I've also been thinking about you, knowing that there is a buffer zone between you, but also that you remember Soviet days too. It's all too horrible. I hope your readers and you can stay safe. Thinking of you and DH, with love.

  6. I've been deeply saddened by all that's occurred in Ukraine. A tragedy on so many levels. My heart goes out to all impacted. xx
