The world's children

I am sharing a beautiful article with you. It is from approximately year 1950.

I was deeply touched by the kindness of Mrs. Kleinstein's father. He was a kind man who was blessed with nine children and yet he taught his children that we should consider the world's children our own.

That's how I feel about the children of Ukraine.

I am still not sure how I will help, but I am determined to help.

  1. Yes! That is so nicely said.

I've made donations to UNICEF and the Red Cross, because it is hard to do much else from here. I'm sure there are more creative ways (!) you could help though. Sending love.

  2. Dear Mali, this is great that you made the donations to UNICEF and the Red Cross. Of course, if you live on the other part of the world, this is the only thing you can do.

  3. This is so very powerful!!! I agree wholeheartedly. It has been equal parts unbearable and inspiring to see (in real time) the extremes of how humans behave...

I also had a strong visceral response to this interview with Hanna Hopko. From what i can tell, she is not a parent but she exemplifies nurturing and caring. This is the interview segment:

  4. I completely agree with your post, Klara! I just donated to the UNHCR for Ukraine last week, in memory of a friend's baby son who lived just one day (he was her only child) -- and then I saw this story from the Washington Post and I had to make a donation there too. (It's a charity in Poland that is sourcing and distributing Ukrainian books to refugee children... as a book lover and a descendant of Ukrainian immigrants, how could I resist??)
