A pandemic activity Nº7

I don't need Russian for work. But my husband has one wish for one day in a distant future - to take the train from Moscow to Vladivostok. So if not before, the Russian will be useful then.

I have just joined an online class Russian for beginners and I like it a lot. Last week we were learning a Russian alphabet with the help of this video:

We had one week time to learn the alphabet and I did. I am so proud - I can finally read Russian! Not that I understand anything (for now) :)

  1. I will live vicariously through your train trip when it happens! I'm looking forward to it already haha. :)

  2. You amaze me with your ability to learn new languages, Klara! -- and that would be an amazing train trip!

My sister & I took Ukrainian classes for a year when we were children, and I still remember some of the alphabet and a few words (which would be similar to Russian). My Baba (grandmother) was so happy when I showed her the book we were learning from. :)

  3. I once had intentions to learn the Russian alphabet. But we only had a day or two in Russia in St Petersburg, and I doubt we'll go again. Though that train trip is supposed to be an amazing adventure. On arrival in Vladivostok, you'd almost be in NZ! (Well, at least in the Pacific Rim. lol)
