Hearts linked deeply through their wounds

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage

“One heart is not connected to another through harmony alone. They are, instead, linked deeply through their wounds. Pain linked to pain, fragility to fragility. There is no silence without a cry of grief, no forgiveness without bloodshed, no acceptance without a passage through acute loss. That is what lies at the root of true harmony.”
Haruki Murakami, Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage

I loved this quote so I took this book from the library. What a luxury it is, having access to the books from all over the world. And what a luxury it is, possibility to write a blog and connect with you, my dear readers. You literally come from all around the world. There is even someone from Japan, visiting my blog. If you are reading these lines, I would love to hear from you. And also from all the others, also from the ones who never left any comments. I love your comments, so that you know.

Wishing you all a lovely day.

  1. Ooh, I love that quote too. And I particularly relate to "... no acceptance without a passage through acute loss. That is what lies at the root of true harmony.”
