I am sad that British are leaving EU. This is the end of the EU as we know it. And most of all, this is the end of dreams that there will be ever strong United States of Europe.
I don't blame British, I blame incompetent and bureaucratic and soft leading of EU.
In moments of disappointments like this I think that I am glad we don't have children. If we had had children, we would have really wished for them to grow up in United Europe.
The majority of my British friends are devastated. It was a shocking result.
ReplyDeleteI didn't follow the Brexit debate too closely, and I am sure there are some well-thought out reasons why some people voted to leave... but it seems to me there was an awful lot of Donald Trump-style ugliness being stirred up over immigration, foreigners and "taking back our country," etc. :( Very sad. The world is getting scarier by the day, it seems. :(
ReplyDeleteWe were getting updates every hour on the news as it unfolded. Quite a bit of interest here and a lot of shock and disappointment once the result came out.
